The Marines are gone, the photographer is gone, only our memory of heroes lives on.

I saw that...he had a pretty good run. I sincerely doubt that I'll last as long...
That is my all time favorite image. Yes, these heroes and their comrades are only memories but there are new heroes.
That image is a national monument to heroism.Those Marines were just doing a day's work. Doing their duty, they had no idea that a guy with a camera would immortalize them.
