Case closed!

In what is being described as the swiftest resolution to a murder case in Georgia history, Gary Michael Hilton is gone, gone, gone, and good riddance.

Our District Attorney, Stan Gunter, is a disagreeable chap. I’ve faced him on traffic charges, and my lawyer had to drag him into a back room and yell to keep him from sending moi to prison.

Speeding tickets aside, it’s all good. Gary M. Hilton, as chronicled here, kidnapped and murdered a young woman—Meredith Emerson—at a starting point of the Appalachian Trail. After leading authorities to the body—which may be the best thing he’s ever done—Hilton agreed to plead guilty to a count of felony murder and kidnapping.

The only reason this scumbag doesn’t get the needle is that our DA made a deal. Life, no parole, and full cooperation on the body recovery.

Meredith was decapitated in his feeble attempt to disguise the crime. There were also coyotes in the equation. Body recovery had to be done quickly. Hilton has been held in PC [Protective Custody—isolation] since his arrest. He will eventually face general population. Unlike “fresh fish”, who are wearing a dress and makeup within 15 minutes of their arrival, Hilton will face some very upset guys who also have families. Bear that in mind; G.M. Hilton has the life expectancy of Jeffrey Dhamer. Convicts have wives and children. You can be a bank robber, or even a cop killer, but there are certain things that don’t pass. Dahmer was beaten to death while waxing a hallway.

Even though our DA is a disagreeable SOB who’s amenable to a plea bargain, I have to admit, in this instance, he done good. I’d prefer that Hilton got the needle, or Ol’ Sparky blowing his eyes out, but we’ll settle for life with no parole.

Join me in praying for Meredith’s family. The Emersons will never get over this.

Judicial experts say that we have the record for indictment, conviction and sentencing a murder case. It hasn’t been done faster in recent history. It’s cold comfort that someone confesses to a brutal murder and bargains for the questionable security of life in prison without parole.

I think it was Shakespeare who stated “If it is best done, it is best done quickly.” Although I’d prefer blood vengeance—but that’s just me—Gary Hilton is righteously done, and PDQ [Pretty Damn Quick].

I just pray that no "feel good " Bill Clinton type Governor comes along in a few years and reduces Gary Hilton's sentence. Here in Wisconsin life doesn't mean life ,unless as you pointed out ,another inmate does the job.Dahmer ,almost exclusively had murdered and tortured young black men,so it was very fitting that the man who killed him was a young black man.

Here's to Hilton's receiving the Jeffrey Dahmer treatment, tout de suite!

It's just unfortunate that justice has to be served by other criminals...but the sooner, the better.
